Welcome to Life In Print!
I am a photographers/artist, and lover of the great outdoors. I love life, family, and being outside. Currently, I live in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
From growing up surrounded by mountains and national parks, like Yellowstone and Grand Teton, along with Utah's natural beauty, it is no wonder that I decided to specialize in nature photography.
Nothing is as constant as change, and change is a constant to life. What I try to do as a photographer of Life In Print is to capture those slivers of moments in my changing life. And as natural elements are always on the move, Nature provides ample opportunity to do this.
Why do I do what I do? It is because I love life in all of its forms. And through photography, I can capture the beauty of this world.
I know it might be cliche to say this, but I owe everything I am to my parents (Farrell & Stacy Steiner). They really helped me to see the beauty that surrounds us and to appreciate nature and life. Our family often went camping and hiking, which brought a love of outdoors that continues to this day.
I’ve always enjoyed art, and began drawing rudimentary drawings in elementary school. This progressed to art classes in middle school, high school, and college. These classes, along with a year of private lessons with professional artist Dave Ewart, really changed my outlook on art. It opened my eyes to what was around me, helping me appreciate the little things that surround us. I’ve always loved technology and, combined with a love of art, it brought me into photography- the best of both worlds.
I graduated with a bachelors in Information Technology, and, as a programmer, I continue my love of technology. But I just can't stay away from my artistic side. In my free time, I continue to learn about photography techniques and feed my inner cravings for creativity. I love to learn, and it seems that no matter how much I study and read on photography there is always more to learn. It is exciting! This mixing brew of evolving technology, beauty in the natural world, and the ability to create, results in exciting opportunities.
I love my wife, Sara, and my son, Matthew. They mean everything to me. My hope is that a little bit of my love of life, family, and the great outdoors will show in my photography; and that you may find enjoyment in it as well.
